CoV Player Guidelines

Any questions pertaining to these rules are to be directed to the Staff of CoV in game. If outside game, posting your questions on the CoV forums will also suffice. Offenders of breaking these rules may result in Jail time, Extensive Jail time, or in the most severe cases, immediate ban from the server.

Please remember that the “CoV” is a FREE server and having an account is a privilege. Individuals who wish to be a nuisance to the Staff or other Players of CoV, will find their privilege’s quickly revoked.

1 - Respect all players, staff, and administrators within the CoV server, it’s forums, and outside events. I understand not all players will get along but I only ask that you don’t go out of your way to make another players experience a bad one. The following are examples of what NOT to do; Harrasing, Name Calling, Cursing, Luring animals and/or monsters on top of other players, Impersonating Staff, Administrators , or other Players, and Griefing. If you feel that you are being disrespected by Staff, immediately take a screen shot of the “journal” and PM Admin Ravenloff on the CoV Forum’s. If you feel that you are being disrespected by another player, contact a GM and have a screen shot ready in case it is needed.

2 - Inappropriate Names are not acceptable. Accounts made with an inappropriate name will be deleted without warning. If uncertain if a name is acceptable or not, contact a Staff member.Need help finding a chara name, there are Fantasy and RPG Names Generator out there on the web

3 - Staff will not tolerate any form of harassment based on color, sex, religion, or sexuality on server or on the website. You may not organize any guilds or groups that are based on any racist, sexist, anti-religious, anti-ethnic, anti-gay, or other hate-mongering philosophy, either on shard or website. There is no exception for this and anyone caught doing this will be banned without further warning. This is your 1st & only warning on this subject.

4 - Do not ask to become staff.

5 - Do not exploit bugs. If you know of a bug or potential exploit, page a Staff member or PM Admin Ravenloff through the forums. Do not post the exploit on the forums or make conversation of the potential bug in public chat. If uncertain about a possible bug or exploit, it’s safer to verify with Staff or Admin before continuing. Players and Staff caught exploiting bugs for their own personal benefit will immediately be banned from the server.

6 - No Spamming on server or within Forums. Cases may include jail time and for the more extreme cases, account ban.

7 - Unattended macroing is permitted on CoV as long as certain guidelines are met. Your macro must be in a private area such as your home or boat. In town, near dungeons, players homes other than your own, high traffic areas are not acceptable. Macros are to have a minimum of 8 seconds between actions as to not bog down the server. Players found macroing unattended in a pubic area, or without a delay, will receive jail time for a first offense along with a skill reduction of up to 20 points.

8 - Paging GM’s are for game issues or problems. Do not page a GM for hints, items, teleports, death pile recovery, resurrection, increase stats, etc… If you have questions regarding an in-game quest, please use the forums or ask another player.

9 - You may not violate any local, state, national or international law or regulation. You may not arrange for the exchange or transfer of any pirated software or other contraband on server or on forums. COV will not be held liable for it's player's actions, and will cooperate fully with any investigation by any law enforcement agency.

10 - You may not use COV server or the COV message boards for any activities other than activities that are permitted within the game world. Examples include but are not limited to: You may not market, promote or advertise anything, or make any other form of solicitation (including pyramid schemes, chain letters and other shards) with the exception of COV in game items

11 - You may not post or communicate any player's real life personal information within COV server or through COV forums.

12 - You will not attempt to interfere with, hack into, or decipher any messages to or from the server running the COV shard. All access to the servers is logged. All hack attempts will be investigated and reported to the authorities.

13 - Third Party Programs: Razor, ConnectUO, and UOautomap are permitted on the CoV server and only those listed. Any other program not listed above is considered illegal. Players caught using other third party programs can result in jail time, suspension, or possible ban.

14 - PK'ing is allowed in Felucca only. PK’ing anywhere other than Felucca is intolerable and will not be permitted Calling the Guards in town is considered a form of pk'ing, as well as luring animals and monsters onto players.

15 - Stealing and Snooping anywhere other than Felucca is not permitted.

16 - Looting dead players other than Felucca is considered illegal unless consent was given by the dead player.

17 - Events are organized by the Staff for general fun. Do not beg, demand, or pester staff, and other players, for items that may spawn from this event. You can, however, request to have this event run again sometime in the future and try again.

18 - You are solely responsible for your account. Do not give your password to any player or staff. You personally are responsible for the actions and consequences that pertain to that account whether a friend used it or even if it was hacked.

19 - The Staff of CoV have final word on decisions between players. If you do not agree with the decision PM Admin Ravenloff within the forums and explain the situation. Screenshots of the journal would be helpful.

20 - There will be no pk'ing, stealing or peeking within the area marked off with lights around the Felucca Britain moongate & rune library without the other persons permission.  This area will be considered neutral towards all blues, reds, warring guilds & factions. Reading this rule is your 1st warning if found violating this rule at all there will be a mandatory jail time with possible suspending of account or banning of your IP address from server. If anyone is violating this rule please get a screen shot of the violation & call a Staff member right away. If staff is not available at the current time, contact one as soon as possible through chat, PM through forums, or email.

Home Placement

Player house placing basic rules:
When you place a house you must follow these DON'T guidelines:

- Don't place your house on roads
- Don't place houses less then two tiles of any other house or building
- Don't place houses so close that they overhang the top of other house or building.
- Don't block entrances to caves or dungeons. Leave at least 10 tiles between your house and the entrance.
- Don't place houses inside dungeons, caves, or buildings.
- Don't place houses on farmland or in animal pens.
- Don't place houses within 10 full screens of a champion altar

If any unforeseen problems should come up about housing please refer the problem to a Seer or Admin.

Admin has finally say in any placing of housing.

Violators of any of the rules will only get one warning & have 3 days to move house & belongings to other spot, the 4th day the house is still there, it will be wiped out along with everything in it by the Admin
